SRINAGAR: One civilian, one cop and several Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in four separate grenade blasts that rocked Kashmir Valley on Friday. Terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has claimed responsibility for the attacks that were carried out in Anantnag, Srinagar and Pulwama.

In Anantnag’s Khanbal area, terrorists hurled a grenade on a joint patrol team comprising CRPF personnel and Jammu and Kashmir Police, injuring four CRPF men — Ravinder Singh, Veer Singh, Vinod Kumar and Mohammad Siraj — and one cop, identified as head constable Abdul Majeed. One civilian, Abdul Rasheed, from Tral’s Amlar area also sustained splinter injuries in the attack.

Several CRPF personnel were also injured when a similar attack took place at Hari Singh street in Srinagar’s Amira Kadal area in the evening. The injured are under treatment.

In Pulwama’s Eidgah crossing, terrorists threw a grenade and fired at a CRPF patrol team but none was injured. Terrorists also lobbed a grenade at the house of PDP’s Tral MLA Mushtaq Shah, but no loss of life or injury happened as the legislator and his family were away at that time, said cops.
