Indrani Mukerjea’s ex-secretary Kajal Sharma, on Thursday, confessed before a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court that in 2012, she had created an email ID in Sheena Bora’s name, much after Sheena was purportedly killed and her body disposed of in forest areas of Raigad district.

Sharma was being cross-examined by former media baron Peter Mukerjea’s lawyer, Shrikant Shivde.

Sharma said that although she did not recollect the dates, “it was sometime between June and July 2012” when she had created the ID.

She had initially refused to practice forging Sheena’s signature because she did not know her. Sharma also said that had not met Sheena, but had learnt of her existence while working at INX Media as Indrani’s secretary.

“Till the date of Indrani’s arrest, I knew her as Indrani’s sister. It was only after Indrani was arrested, I learnt that Sheena was her daughter, and not sister,” Sharma told the court.

Sharma also said that she had read the ‘resignation letter’ on which she had forged Sheena’s signature, but maintained that she did not believe at that time that Indrani would give her any ‘wrong instructions’.

“If I thought it was wrong, why would I sign?” Sharma asked. The workload was on a gradual decline since the day she started working at Indrani’s office, she said.

Sharma broke down in court and said that she had been a loyal employee. She also confessed to making calls using accused turned approver Shyamwar Rai’s Skype ID.
