MAHArashtra MIN FUNDKAR DIES OF HEART ATTACK

Maharashtra’s Agriculture Minister and senior BJP leader Pandurang P Fundkar died of a massive heart attack at the KJ Somaiya Hospital here on Thursday.

Fundkar, who had been hospitalised on Wednesday, breathed his last at 4.34 am after his condition deteriorated and he suffered a massive cardiac arrest.      

He was 67 and is survived by wife Sunita and two children, including son Akash who is sitting MLA from Khamgaon.

Fundkar's body was taken to his home village in Khamgaon in Buldhana district of Vidarbha region where his last rites will be performed on Friday morning.

Known for his organisational skills, Fundkar  was elected to 9th, 10th and 11th Lok Sabha from Akola. He was also as an MLA  besides being elected to the State Legislative  Council  in 1978. He was very close to late BJP leader Gopinath Munde.
