Arabba is a small, quiet but fast-growing village appealing particularly to people looking for more challenging terrain than this region normally offers – but also immediate access to the Sella Ronda and Alta Badia sectors.
We like
Some of the best steep pistes in the Sella Ronda area – shady too
Quick access to Marmolada glacier
We don't like
Not a good base for novices, with more blacks than blues locally
Off-slope activities are limited
Village charm
The village is small and traditional in style, but not notably picturesque. There are a few shops, bars and restaurants, but this is not a place for lively nightlife.
Convenience
It’s a small place, but staying in the older part can involve an uphill walk to reach the two lifts, which are a short walk apart. A newer area of hotels and chalets has developed higher up, well placed for the lifts and slopes, though perhaps not for bars.
Scenery
Arabba is beautifully positioned between the stunning Gruppo del Sella and the glacial Marmolada massif, with great views at altitude in both directions.
