‘Resolve errors in passbooks immediately’

Agriculture Minister P. Srinivas Reddy has asked officials concerned to make efforts to resolve issues relating to lands by going round villages and interacting with farmers. He suggested them to set aside lands which are in litigation in courts.

He said delay would not be correct on the decision over legally transferable lands on to the names of heirs. Lands which were free of controversies and newly-purchased must be given pattadar passbooks immediately, he said, while taking part in land records’ supervision at Ramannapet, Morthad and Padagal in Balkonda constituency on Thursday.

The Minister asked the authorities to complete the records’ purification and distribute pattabooks by June 20. “We are visiting fields to remove the troubles of farmers. We will not tolerate the injustice to farmers and will not hesitate to take action on employees responsible,” he added. Describing the Rythu Bandhu scheme as an innovative and first-of-its-kind one in the entire country, he said the successful implementation of RBS, land records were essential, and therefore Chief Minister got the records purified by the revenue staff within 100 days before the introduction of the scheme.

Srinivas Reddy warned that his government would not hesitate even to dismiss officers from service, however high the position, if they failed to correct records. “We are going to introduce another good scheme – five lakh rupees life insurance scheme for farmers by bearing the premium of ₹2,271,” he said.
