Spotify rows back on hateful conduct policy after coming under fire from music industry

Spotify has scrapped a hateful conduct policy it introduced just last month after facing a fierce backlash from musicians and record labels who threatened to pull their music from the platform.

The policy, which the music streaming company had claimed was being introduced to promote "openness, diversity, tolerance and respect”, had seen Spotify remove artists including R Kelly and XXXTentacion from its playlists and say it was taking steps to "not actively promote" some musicians.
