Bhopal: Cheers! Good rains on card for state


Bhopal: Meteorological department has good news for the residents of Madhya Pradesh, as per their forecast the state is likely to receive good rains this year. The country will witness normal monsoon, except the east and northeast India, which is likely to witness “below normal” rainfall.

Even as heat wave persists over pockets of Madhya Pradesh where temperature hovered around 45 degree Celsius, mercury climbed down a few notches at certain places on Thursday. Bhopal registered maximum temperature of 42.7 degree Celsius, while minimum temperature settled at 28.6. Indore recorded maximum temperature of 41.2 degree Celsius and minimum of 27.1.

Weatherman has forecast light rain likely in Rewa, Jabalpur, Chambal, Shahdol divisions and districts like Alirajpur, Jhabua, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Ashok Nagar, Tikamgarh, Chhattarpur, Panna, Betul, Hoshangabad, Khargone districts in the next 24 hours. Umaria, Hoshangabad, Chhattarpur and Damoh districts will continue to experience  heat wave.


A trough is extending from this system up to Telangana across Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Light rains occurred over a few places in North Madhya Pradesh Isolated rains are also possible over East Madhya Pradesh. Northwest Plains will witness dry and hot weather. Heat wave will continue at some parts of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining states.
