Collector monitors Rythu Bandhu

During the everyday monitoring of work and cell conferences with officials in the mandals, District Collector Gaurav Uppal on Thursday cautioned officials that they would face stringent action, if found negligent in the implementation of Rythu Bandhu and pattadar passbook distribution.

In a one-day orientation and review of the programme here, Mr. Uppal, speaking to the VROs, Tahsildars and supervisory officers said the district was able to distribute the benefit to 2.83 lakh farmers so far, of the total 3.83 lakh beneficiaries, while at least 60, 000 pattadar passbooks were pending for updation through the tabs.

Advising officials to make the best of the five days allotted by the State governments for the purification exercise, he said the last chance to present a good show should guarantee mistakes-free records. It was learnt, of the available clean records of passbooks and cheques, about 36, 000 farmers are yet to receive their due. However, officials said the whole distribution would be completed in the next three days.

On the work towards Dharani website uploads, Joint Collector C. Narayana Reddy said the next five days were being approached with an action plan prepared at all mandals. Since it is almost a second version of land records purification exercise, Mr. Narayana Reddy cautioned local officials to restrain from indulging in malpractices. “As everything is online, traces of mistakes can be found easily and such officials will invite suspension and outsourced operators would be booked for action,” he said. With respect to accepting and demanding bribes for cleaning records, other officials said the government is ensuring payment for the work.
