URLABARI, MORANG: A man died after he was rammed by a pickup truck along the East-West Highway in Sundarharaicha Municipality-4 of Morang district today.
The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old local resident Mahesh Chaudhary.
The truck (Me 1 Cha 5414) heading in an eastward direction hit Chaudhary, injuring him critically at 5:30 am today.
Chaudhary was rushed to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) where he succumbed to injuries during the course of treatment, at 6:25 am, according to the District Traffic Police Office, Morang.
Meanwhile, Ghachiya-based police post has detained the driver and impounded the vehicle involved in the incident.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, said police.
