RANCHI: Ranchi witnessed a severe power outage lasting for several hours on Wednesday after a tree, which was uprooted due to a sudden squall, fell on overhead power distribution lines near the
Raj Bhawan.
The areas most affected were Kutcherry Road, Radium Road, parts of
Ratu Road and Kanke Road.
"Power personnel rushed to the spot near the Raj Bhawan after a tree fell on overhead power lines. All out efforts are being made to extricate the tree from the mangled power lines and restore normalcy,"
Dhanesh Jha, general manager of Jharkhand Bijli Vitaran Nigam Limited (JBVNL), Ranchi told TOI.
Power supplies were switched off, more as a precautionary measure, in case of strong winds and adverse weather conditions.
