Jharkhand bypolls: BJP leading in Gomia, JMM in Silli

BJP candidate is leading over his nearest JMM rival by 8,700 votes after eight rounds of counting for the Assembly constituency bypoll in Jharkhand, EC sources said.

JMM candidate is leading over her rival, Sudesh Mahto, by 660 votes for the Silli Assembly bypoll, after the eighth round of counting.

The votes would be counted over 15 rounds, an election official said.

The by-polls in both and seats, falling in LWE area, were necessitated following conviction of their respective JMM MLAs, and

is in district while Silli is in district.

There are 13 candidates and 10 contestants in Gomia and Silli constituencies respectively.
