Phagwara clash: 2 more from right wing groups arrested

JALANDHAR: Police have arrested two more activists of the right-wing Hindu groups in the clash with the Dalit community members on the night of April 13 in Phagwara. One Dalit youth lost his life after receiving a bullet injury to his head and another survived with an injury.

Accused Sunny Batta, whose name figured in the FIR registered by the police, was arrested on Wednesday. Phagwara City station house officer (SHO) Jatinderjit Singh said he would be produced in the local court on Thursday. A couple of days ago police had also arrested another accused Tinka.

With these two arrests, total number of the accused arrested from the right-wing groups has reached six. Four were arrested a day after the clash. They are facing murder charge along with other serious offences.
