Barring a rise of Rs 100 per quintal in gur pedi prices on the paucity of stocks, other gur varieties traded steady at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today on sporadic demand amid adequate stocks.
Muradnagar market also showed a slightly better trend with gur pedi prices rising by Rs 50 per quintal on scarcity of stocks. Prices of all gur varieties remained unchanged in Muradnagar and Muzaffarnagar.
Marketmen said, the tight position of stocks due to negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts, amid speculative buying, specially pushed up gur pedi prices in Delhi and Muradnagar.
In Delhi, gur pedi prices advanced by Rs 100 to end the day at Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal.
Coming to Muradnagar, gur pedi enquired higher by Rs 50 to Rs 2,650-2,750 per quintal.

Gur chakku Rs 3,000-3,100, pedi Rs 3,000-3,100, dhayya Rs 3,200-3,300 and shakkar Rs 3,300-3,400.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,100-2,150, chakku Rs 2,500-2,750, khurpa Rs 2,450-2,500 and ladoo Rs 2,700- 2,750.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,650-2,750 and dhayya Rs 2,750-2800.
