ALIQUIPPA — A city man is facing charges after police said he held a woman at knife point, then punched and kicked her to the point that she lost consciousness.
According to a police report, Nathan Diamond, 24, assaulted the woman at about 12:40 p.m. May 27 at a Mill Street home.
Police said officers were called to the area when neighbors noticed an unconscious woman on the ground. The woman was taken to Heritage Valley Beaver hospital for treatment, then went to the Aliquippa Police Department to discuss the assault, police said.
According to the report, the woman was at home with Diamond when they got into an argument. Police said Diamond pulled out a knife and refused to allow the woman to leave.
He told her that if she called for help, he would kill her, police said.
According to the report, he grabbed the woman by her neck, drug her outside and closed the door. Police said she told neighbors to call the police.
Diamond then went outside and started “kicking, punching, strangling and hitting her head off the wall,” police said. According to the report, the woman “blacked out” while trying to get to her feet.
Police said the woman returned to Diamond’s home to gather her belongings after she went to the hospital and the police station. That turned into “a domestic dispute,” police said. According to the report, officers responded and said Diamond was “visibly upset” and used “obscene language” toward the victim.
Diamond, of 2353 Mill St., was charged by Aliquippa police with aggravated assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, simple assault and strangulation.
