Minor interlocking issue on new Magenta Line corridor

A minor interlocking issue today cropped up on the newly-inaugurated Kalkaji Mandir-West stretch of the Metro's Magenta Line, which was resolved quickly, officials said.

The problem occurred on the 24.82-km-long stretch, which was opened to passengers yesterday, a day after its inauguration, they said.

However, they did not divulge much details, saying it was a "minor issue that was sorted out quickly".

on the segment, which has 16 stations -- 14 underground and two elevated -- began from 6 am yesterday from Kalkaji Mandir and West stations simultaneously.

The service has proved a big boon for commuters as it has brought the domestic terminal of the city airport on the DMRC network and between Noida and Gurgaon by at least 30 minutes.
