Rajkot: Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) for BCCI recommended to raise the fees of umpires for senior tournaments (other than T20) up to Rs 40,000 per day for top 20 umpires.
Former honorary secretary of BCCI and Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Niranjan Shah issued a statement stating that “it is surprising and shocking that how umpire’s fees will be higher than domestic senior players, which is Rs 35,000 per day.”

Shah also demanded more matches for domestic players alleging that they were being ignored since last couple of years. “Domestic cricket is the most important and reliable platform of getting players for international tournaments. Ranji Trophy players should be given more matches,” said Shah. He added, “Ranji Trophy is getting two less league matches than earlier format which is considerable financial loss to the players.”
