Anti-Sterlite protests: Security deployed at Rajinikanth's house

CHENNAI: Actor Rajinikanth's house at Poes Garden has been brought under security cover after a few fringe outfits planned to besiege his house condemning his statement on Tuticorin anti-Sterlite protests.
Rajinikanth, who visited the injured protesters at Tuticorin government hospital on Wednesday, said he knew it was anti-social elements who were responsible for the violence on May 22 which led to the killing of 13 people in the police firing.

His statement drew criticism from various political leaders, and a few fringe outfits stated that they would lay siege to his house.

Following this, a large number of policemen were posted near his house. Even the actor's fans were not allowed anywhere near house since morning.

Layers of barricades were placed on the road.
