Memorial Day in El Dorado

Memorial Day services were held at the Sunset Lawns Cemetery Monday.
Brad Yazel was the Master of Ceremonies  and gave the opening remarks. After the opening remarks there was a flyover and the rifle squad and color guard entered.
Chaplain Rick Graves, U.S. Army Veteran , American Legion Post No. 81, gave the pledge of allegiance and said the opening prayer.
Circle High School sophomore Rylee Madden sang the star spangled banner.
The guest speaker was Colonel Hans Neidhardt, retiree of the Kansas Air National Guard.
Next was the roll call for deceased veterans. The deceased veterans included Larry Adams, Alexander Buckley, Manuel Cabrales, Richard Chase, Rickey Cooper, John Cunningham, Marvin Dodson, Harry Fitzgerald, Bill Harvey, Arthur Jenkinson, William Jones, Raleigh Love, Guy Pratt, Darrel Shipman, Billy Starkey, Rodney Story, Tim Vanderpool, Robert Ward, Donald Wilson, Roy Andrews, Carl Bohannon, Robert Carson, Joseph Conner, Ramon Criss, Charles Diffendal, Larry Durnil, Harley Guy, Thurrel Jeffries, William Johnson, Darrel Kichler, George Massey, Michael Prohodsky, Robert Smith, David Stonecipher, David Sysak, Elbridge Walker, James Warren and Lloyd Zang.
The ceremonial laying of the wreaths followed before the rifle volley and the playing of taps by Daron Clinesmith, US Air Force Veteran, American Legion Post 81.
Glaves gave the closing prayer and Yazel gave the closing remarks. The retiring of the colors ended the ceremony.
