Man murdered in drunken brawl

A 40-year old person was allegedly murdered by another in a drunken brawl at Midhilapuri colony in Madhurwada area here on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as S Prakash from PM Palem area, while accused K Surya, who is also from the same area, is said to be mentally unstable person.

According to PM Palem Police Inspector K Lakshmana Murthy, the duo picked up a fight near a wine shop at Midhilapuri colony on Wednesday.

Police said they had suspected that the duo had been drinking since night and over a petty quarrel, Surya allegedly bludgeoned Prakash to death with a heavy stone, inflicting grievous injuries on his head. After killing him, Surya too fell on the ground in inebriated state.

Police said they were checking out CCTV footage and a few other evidences.
