2 arrested for using woman's bank details to purchase diamond ring, electronic items online

Two persons were arrested today on charges of fraudulently using and account details of a woman to purchase articles worth Rs 3 lakh in Dharampur locality here, an said.

They were arrested by a joint team of the crime branch and the cyber cell.

The items purchased online included a diamond ring, a washing machine, an air-conditioner, a hair drier and other electrical appliances. These have been recovered from them.

"An expensive diamond ring and branded home appliances worth Rs 3 lakh were purchased online from a popular shopping site by two youths - Naveen Richard and Abhay Daniel - from the account of their relative Meena Laon," SP (Crime) told reporters.

"The card was delivered to the woman in the presence Naveen and Abhay who accessed its details along with password," Sharma said.
