Toyota Launches New GT86 Club Series Blue Edition In The UK

Toyota has announced a new special version of the GT86 for the UK market, called Club Series Blue Edition.

The new special edition is the latest addition in the Club Series group of models, with the Orange Edition going on sale just a few weeks ago in the UK.

As we might have guessed already, the new Blue Edition is distinguished by an exclusive Electric Blue paintwork that’s matched with contrasting black details, including the front and rear spoiler, rear diffuser, door mirror housings and front fog light surrounds.

The cabin features black leather and Alcantara. Customers in the UK will be offered the option of the Performance pack, which adds things like a Sachs-tuned suspension, larger Brembo brakes with the classic red calipers and a new 17-inch design for the wheels.

The equipment levels of the new Club Series Blue Edition match those of the GT86 Pro, meaning it comes with features like a limited-slip differential, cruise control, dusk-sensing headlights, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, LED front and rear lights and the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system as standard.

Customers will get the choice of either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, although we do struggle to justify buying a GT86 with the latter for obvious reasons.

The oily bits remain the same, meaning a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter flat-four engine with 197hp. Toyota claims a 0-62mph (100km/h) in 7.7 seconds for the manual (8.4 seconds for the auto) and a top speed of 140mph (auto: 130mph).

Prices for the new Toyota GT86 Club Series Blue Edition start from £29,980, with Performance Pack-equipped models starting from £30,455. Toyota’s latest special GT86 goes on sale in the UK on June 1.
