May 21 meeting
KEY ACTION Council agreed to pay $5,250 for a program to help rid the village of mosquitoes. Joe Super of Terminex attended the meeting to explain how the program works. Super also noted that any resident who wants special mosquito protection at their home may contact Terminex by calling Kim Stull, village clerk, at village hall.
Council also approved the Tuscarawas County General Health mosquito spraying program.
Legislation to approve ODOT's winter road salt contract and the Tuscarawas County Tax Incentive Review Council also was given council's approval.
A quote of $49,637 from Barbica for resurfacing several village streets was approved.
DISCUSSION Resident Terry Lintner attended the meeting to tell council items from an area behind the service building where they are taken for recycling are backing up into his lawn. It was suggested that no items for recycling be collected there.
Police Chief Dennis Moody explained he still is interviewing candidates for a new addition to the village police department.
UP NEXT Council meets at 7 p.m. June 4 in village hall.
