Some consider the Lamborghini Miura to be the first ever supercar thanks to its mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout and extravagant looks.

Now, we think the first ever supercar title should go to the Countach, but in any case the Miura is one of the finest vehicles ever to have been produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Plus, with only 764 made, it’s no wonder that their prices have skyrocketed over the last few years.

Out of the aforementioned production batch, 338 were in P400S guise, also known as the Miura S. The example pictured here is one of those and has went through a complete nuts & bolts restoration that took some 12 years to complete. This makes it, according to the ad posted on Mobile, “one of the finest available today”; and judging by the pictures, it really does look to be in pristine condition.

When it left the factory, almost five decades ago, this Lamborghini Miura was delivered to France. This is where it lived most of its life, with its 4.0-liter V12 roaring on special occasions and channeling 370 horsepower to the rear axle via a 5-speed manual transmission.

The vendor, a car dealership based in London, which takes pride in selling quite a few classic models, is asking €1.6 million to let it go. This equals $1,865,440 at the current exchange rates, and the sum could land collectors a variety of both modern and classic supercars. But if you can afford it, you can’t resist the star of ‘The Italian Job‘, can you?
