WATERMAN – A fire reported at a trucking company shop in Waterman on
Tuesday morning is estimated to have caused $250,000 in damage and disabled two semi-tractor trailers, DeKalb County Chief Deputy Andy Sullivan said.
The fire was reported around 3 a.m.
at 250 E. Adams St., damaging a shed
and its contents, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
Sullivan said the total damage to the shed and its equipment was roughly $250,000.
Two semi tractors parked nearby also sustained heat damage that left them nonfunctional, he added.
A cause is yet to be determined, but Sullivan said there does not appear to be any suspicious activity.
Waterman, Hinckley and Shabbona Fire Departments responded to the blaze, according to the release.
