IT Dept’s Grievance Redressal from June 1

Chandigarh: Income Tax Department has decided to hold a special ‘Grievance Redressal Fortnight’ from June 1 to 15. All Assessing Officers have been asked to remain available to attend to the work on all working days of the fortnight from 10.30 am to 1 pm. The applicants, tax payers and counsels can meet concerned officers, without prior appointment, to explain their grievances. A special help desk will also be maintained at ASK Centre at the ground floor of Aayakar Bhawan Sector -17 Chandigarh to assist the taxpayers. During the fortnight, special emphasis will be on appeal effects, rectifications of mistakes and correction of disputed demand due to mismatch of TDS, non-receipt of TDS credit and other grievances related to demand or refunds.

Punjab VB nabs revenue patwari in bribery case

Chandigarh: Punjab State Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday nabbed Revenue Patwari red handed while accepting Rs 30,000 bribe. Spokesperson said Pushpinder Singh, Patwari posted at Halqa Thehri-I in Sri Muktsar Sahib district, was nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting Rs 30,000 bribe from complainant Thehri village -resident Surjit Singh. The complainant has alleged that accused Patwari was demanding Rs 30,000 for the mutation of his land. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and Patwari was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe in the presence of two official witnesses.

Haryana to honour mill owners

Chandigarh: Haryana Government would soon honour the mill owners, who have made 100 percent payment for the custom milled rice (CMR), said the Minister of State for Food and Supplies Karan Dev Kamboj at a meeting with mill owners for resolving their issues. Kamboj told such owners, who have not made the payment, to immediately do so as per CMR regulations.

Haryana promotes 11 inspectors as DSPs

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has promoted 11 Inspectors of Police Department to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police with immediate effect. Those who have been promoted included Balbir Singh, Ajit Singh, Rajnish Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Ravinder Kumar, Ram Phal, Bijender Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Kulbhushan, Ram Singh and Narender Kumar. Promotion orders of Narender Kumar will be effective from June 1, 2018, after the superannuation of Inspector Balbir Singh on May 31, 2018, said the spokesperson.

Hry RERA issues notices to real estate agents

Chandigarh: Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority, Gurugram, has issued notice to the Real Estate Agents regarding application for registration specifying therein applicability of fees on the ‘Sole Proprietorship’ category and demanded requisite amount of fees from the agents who have deposited fees prescribed for individuals and functioning as sole proprietor agents. Spokesperson said that time limit for depositing balance fees is quoted as 15 days in the notice and to facilitate the agents and to allot them enough time to prepare for requisite fees as applicable to them, the Authority has further granted a time period of 75 days which makes it to total 90 days.

The Great Khali calls on CM

Shimla: Dalip Singh Rana who is internationally acclaimed as the Great Khali called on Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday. Forest, Youth Services and Sports Minister Govind Thakur was also present on the occasion. The Great Khali expressed his desire to organize a WWE event of International level in Himachal Pradesh where foreign wrestlers would also be invited. He said that he would like to promote wrestlers of the State by providing them a platform. He informed that ten Himachali youth were taking training in his academy at Jalandhar. He also sought support from the State Government for conducting big sports events soon in two districts of the State. Chief Minister assured of all possible support.
