MP, son and 36 others booked

Koppal Town Police have registered a case against Koppal MP Karadi Sanganna, his son Amaresh Karadi and 36 others on the charge of obstructing police officials from discharging their duties during Monday’s bandh called to protest against the failure of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to announce waiver of farm loan.

In a complaint, Ravi Ukkund, Police Inspector, Town Police Station, has said that Mr. Sanganna and 37 of his followers laid a siege to the police station, used abusive language against police officials and forcibly took away a seized autorickshaw that had been fitted with a public address system.

According to him, during the bandh, the autorickshaw fitted with the public address system was used to make announcement without any prior permission. He said that when a police official sought for the permission letter, Amaresh Karadi, along with others, intervened and obstructed the official from discharging his duty.
