A new Republican has emerged in the race for Florida House District 26.
Elizabeth Fetterhoff, who has worked as a legislative assistant to Sen. Dorothy Hukill, opened a campaign account this week. She did not return a call seeking comment on Wednesday.
Fetterhoff, of DeLand, joins a field that includes incumbent Rep. Patrick Henry and his Democratic primary opponent, Percy Williamson.
In the Republican primary, Fetterhoff will likely face Michael Cantu, who has run unsuccessfully for the seat twice before, losing to Henry in 2016. Cantu had 1,098 petition signatures verified as of May 15. That's more than the 1,058 required to run.
Libertarian Kyle Baker is also in the race.
