In the past four years, Mike Carberry consistently has supported policies that preserve farm land and sensitive areas from residential development. He is the only candidate who supports the new county land use map that promotes growth around cities and discourages the rezoning of agricultural land for residential subdivisions in rural areas where no infrastructure exists.
Mike’s vote to adopt the Future Land Use Map as part of the new County Comprehensive Plan will designate significant areas of Johnson County as preservation areas, thereby eliminating thousands of acres of residential zoning preference in the North Corridor.
I’m voting for Mike because he is the real deal. Unlike Pat Heiden, Mike never had to switch parties in order to run as a Democrat. He is a true progressive whose voting record reflects his ability to balance the needs of both rural and urban constituents.
