Jeff Goldblum launches music career with release of debut jazz album
JEFF GOLDBLUM is to release an album of jazz piano recordings.
The popular actor has been playing all his life after learning classical piano as a child, before playing in cocktail lounges in Pittsburgh as a teenager.
He has a band, the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, though this will mark his first time as a recording artist.
Goldblum has signed with Decca Records, whose head of A&R Tom Lewis said: “As far as I can tell, everyone loves Jeff Goldblum.
“It’s like a universal truth… He’s a fantastic jazz pianist, a great band leader and just about the loveliest man in the world.

“His love of jazz is infectious and whenever he plays he makes you feel very happy.”
Goldblum himself said he is “so happy” with the signing.
“I’m so happy to be in cahoots with the wonderful people at Decca, one of the coolest and most prestigious labels of all time,” he beamed.
Goldblum’s record does not currently have a release date.
The star has a number of exciting films in the pipeline, too - he’ll next be seen in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, out June 6 in the UK.
He also joined the MCU last year with a well-received part in Thor: Ragnarok as The Grandmaster.
It’s no new trend for Hollywood favourites to cross over into music: Christopher Lee famously released a string of metal records, starting at the ripe age of 88.

Hugh Laurie has also released music that shows off his talent as a blues musician, and young Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld is currently releasing a string of smash hit pop singles.
It works the other way around, too: before she won an Oscar for Room and joined the MCU as Captain Marvel, Brie Larson was also a popstar.
Goldblum has been trending on Twitter since the album news was announced earlier today.
