Wednesday’s RB order
The Redskins stayed consistent with their approach at RB, with Rob Kelley leading off and rookie Derrius Guice third, the same order we saw last Wednesday.
Zach Brown not around
DeAngelo Hall is in attendance, sort of
The longtime Redskins defensive back told reporters he was ending his playing career during a charity golf outing earlier this month, but then backtracked in subsequent interviews, saying he was not formally retiring just yet. All indications remain that Hall will not play in the 2018 season. He has spoken in the past of wanting to work in an NFL front office.

Several Redskins have chances for bigger roles in 2018
By Kareem Copeland
The first three years of Quinton Dunbar’s NFL career have been working toward this moment, even if the Washington Redskins cornerback doesn’t want to put it that way.
He signed as an undrafted free agent wide receiver out of Florida in 2015 and quickly switched to the defensive side of the ball. Dunbar spent the next three years learning the cornerback position, and he earned a three-year extension in January. The 25-year old will now have his first true opportunity to earn a starting job going into a season.
Dunbar isn’t alone, with offseason roster moves giving several young players the chance to snatch a larger role with the team as organized team activities continue this week. (Read More)
Five things to watch in the second week of OTAs
By Kareem Copeland
Allen progressing: Defensive end Jonathan Allen is practicing after a Lisfranc (foot) injury ended his rookie season after five games. The No. 17 overall pick started every game in which he played and made an immediate impact on the defensive line. Coach Jay Gruden said the plan was to limit him during offseason training activities to be safe.
“He’s just slowly working back into it,” Gruden said last week, “but just watching him in Phase 2, watching him in individual, he looks good. He’s 100 percent, but we’re still going to try to take care of his reps and monitor how much he’s doing to make sure he’s full-go for training camp.
“But I’m very pleased and anxious to see him get more work.”
Who’s here?: Tackle Tyler Catalina suffered a lower leg injury last week and was expected to be back on the field this week. Linebacker Zach Brown was absent during the session open to the media because he was moving to the area. Defensive tackle Phil Taylor was absent, and tackles Ty Nsekhe and T.J. Clemmings and running back Chris Thompson (leg) were out with injuries. Tight end Jordan Reed (hamstring, toe) and tackles Trent Williams (knee) and Morgan Moses (ankle) are not expected to participate during OTAs.
RB rotation: Veteran Rob Kelley got the first-team reps last week followed by Samaje Perine and rookie Derrius Guice. Kelley ran for 704 yards and six touchdowns as an undrafted rookie in 2016, but played just seven games last season after knee and ankle injuries landed him on injured reserve. Guice was selected with the No. 59 overall pick to help revamp a run game that ranked No. 28 in the league in 2017. Perine finished his rookie season as the starter, partially due to injuries to Kelley and Thompson, and ran for 603 yards and a touchdown after being the selected in the fourth round.
CB rotation: The starting cornerback and nickelback positions are up for grab after the departures of Bashaud Breeland and Kendall Fuller. Orlando Scandrick, Quinton Dunbar and Fabian Moreau are the front-runners. Scandrick worked at both corner and nickel last week.
The Flash: Free-agent acquisition Paul Richardson didn’t waste any time showing off his top-end speed last week. The receiver hooked up with Alex Smith for a deep connection of about 45 yards — arguably, the play of the day last Wednesday. Richardson ran past rookie cornerback Greg Stroman, who lined up a few yards off the line of scrimmage. Everyone knows Richardson can run, but look out for his route-running skills.
