Dow ends more than 300 points higher as Italy worries fade

Stocks bounced back Wednesday to reclaim ground lost the previous day, with the small-cap Russell 2000 hitting an all-time high. Equities found support as oil regained its footing, lifting energy shares. Wall Street sold off sharply on Tuesday, joining a global equity selloff inspired by political turmoil in Italy that sent the country's bond yields jumping. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended around 306 points higher near 24,668, a gain of 1.3%, according to preliminary data. The S&P 500 rose 1.3%, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.9%.
