FALL RIVER — Police are investigating a reported armed robbery Tuesday evening at Cook Pond.

The victim told police he had been fishing just before 9 p.m. when he encountered a teenage boy, 13 to 15 years old, who had removed money from his tackle bag, which had been left ashore. The teen reportedly pulled a snubnose revolver at the victim and told him, "I got you old man," Fall River police Sgt. J.T. Hoar said.

During the robbery, a second juvenile was spotted hiding in the nearby bushes. The victim did not provide a description of that suspect, but said the teen who robbed him was about 5 feet tall, described him as light-skinned black or Hispanic, wearing black basketball shorts and a black T-shirt with a white or silver design on the back and front. The victim said the suspects took $345 from his bag, Hoar said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fall River Police Department Major Crimes Division at 508-324-2796, or call the police department's anonymous tips line at 508-672-TIPS.
