Taylor McGlothlin graduated last week, but she still had one last duty to perform as a Crusader out on the track this past weekend.  She received 6th place in triple jump & first place in the 4A 400-meter state championship.  After the events, she said it “was very nerve wracking and a bittersweet moment. I just left everything out on the track.”
Looking forward, she said she’s  “currently undecided on college. I’m trying to weigh all my options and offers. I know I’ll be running track and taking pre-med courses.”
Brooke McCorkle placed eighth in the discus.  Afterwards, she said, “I really enjoyed participating in the state track meet.  It was an amazing experience.  I set a goal at the beginning of the season to qualify for state and medal.  I accomplished it by throwing 118’2” and took 8th Place.  I really enjoyed the season and improved a lot over the spring.  With the help of my coaches, my personal best improved by 32 feet.  I'm really excited and looking forward to see how next year goes.  Wellington has some great fans & I appreciate everyone who supported me.”
Taylor Meyer placed ninth in the javelin.
Eric Kop placed ninth in the 110 hurdles.  He said, “State was a great experience, I loved being there with a big crowd, and lots of excitement.  My race didn’t go as I wanted it--and sometimes your race goes good and sometimes it doesn’t--but I came out and competed.”
He went on to say, “I ran track my freshman year, but took my sophomore year off and came back my junior year.  I would have been more trained and efficient at hurdles if I would have done track my sophomore year.  I missed it a lot, being my favorite sport.
It’s my track family, we’re all there for each other,  and everyone is rooting for them to get first or to beat the next person the feeling you get when your whole team is yelling at you when you come off the back stretch for the last 100 meters.  Everyone wants you to beat that next pr, and there’s no better feeling than giving your all for your team.”
Chase Pfalzgraf finished 13th in the 800 meters.
