CBSE Class X exams results: four share top position

The overall pass percentage stood at 86.70, with Thiruvananthapuram being the best performing region with 99.6% pass.

The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) announced the results of the Secondary School Examination (Class X) on Tuesday.

Four students scored 499 out of 500 to top the examination. They are Prakhar Mittal from DPS, Gurgaon, Rimzhim Agarwal from RP Public School, Bijnor, Nandini Garg from Scottish International School, Shamli, and Sreelakshmi G from Bhavan’s Vidyalaya, Kochi.

Girls perform better

Over 16 lakh students took the examination from 17,567 schools and the overall pass percentage was 86.70.  Girls performed better than boys by 3.35%.

Tiruvanathapuram Region had the highest pass percentage of 99.6% with Chennai and Ajmer regions following with 97.37% and 91.86% respectively. The Delhi region has a pass percentage of 78.62.

The CBSE said that 1,31,493 students secured above 90% and 27,476 scored above 95%
