TROY – The city announced its summer event schedule Tuesday outlining activities from music performances to a car show and baseball.

“Every year it seems Troy has more and more to offer,” Mayor Patrick Madden said.

The free nine-week long Rockin’ on the River concert series returns for Wednesday performances on June 6, 13, 20, 27; July 11, 18, 25; and Aug. 1 and 8 from 5-8:30 p.m. in Riverfront Park.

Details about performers appearing in Rockin’ on the River and the entire list of more than 40 summer events is available on the city website at www.troyny.gov.

The Troy Flea is a collective market that’s held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.on the second and fourth Sunday of every month from June 10 to Sept. 23, in Riverfront Park.

The 3rd Annual Headlocks on the Hudson is an outdoor Freestyle and Greco Roman Wrestling Festival held at Sage Field, 67 River St. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday June 10.

The Tri-City ValleyCats open their 17th season on Friday June 15.  The minor league baseball team will hold the Houston Astros World Series Trophy on Aug. 3 at “The Joe.”  The ValleyCats are affiliated with the Astros.

The 15th Annual Troy River Fest takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday June 16 at River Street and Monument Square.

The Corning Museum of Glass’s GlassBarge will tie up June 21-22 at Riverfront Park for demonstrations of glass blowing.  The GlassBarge is traveling along the Erie Canal to celebrate the 150th anniversary of glass making in Corning and the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal.

The Great Race will roll into downtown from 3-8 p.m. Sunday June 24 featuring antique automobiles.

The 15th Annual Powers Park Concert Series in Lansingburgh begins Saturday, July 7 in Powers Park. It will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. on Sundays in July and August.

The 11th Annual Troy Pig Out will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 14 featuring BBQ and fireworks.

Fitness in the Park will be held from 9-10 a.m. Sundays in Riverfront Park.

Troy Restaurant & Craft Beer Week will take place from Sept. 10-16.

The Enchanted City Festival will return fro a fifth year from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday Sept. 15 downtown.

The 12th Annual Troy ChowderFest will be held from noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7 at Monument Square and other locations in the city.
