Cuban Ambassador Calls on MP

A senior lawmaker says Tehran and Havana have abundant opportunities to expand ties in different fields, and urged the countries’ parliaments to boost cooperation.
“Parliamentary cooperation has played a key role in expanding and developing relations and interaction between the two countries in different areas,” Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said in a meeting with the Cuban Ambassador Alexis Bandrich Vega on Sunday, Fars News Agency reported.
The MP underlined that both nations  have suffered from the US sanctions and sharing sanctions-era experience will be in the interest of the two peoples.
“The Islamic Republic is resolute in expanding bilateral relations and there is enough potential to build ties in areas related to economy, politics, society, and culture,” Boroujerdi added.
The Cuban diplomat voiced support for the expansion of relations between the two friendly countries.
