Only three of top 100 rankers attend certificate verification

Only three candidates among top 100 rankers of TS-EAMCET attended certificate verification, the first step of counselling for engineering admission, that started on Monday.

Similarly, only 63 candidates from the ranks between 101 and 500 attended the verification process and just about 57% of the top 10,000 rankers turned up on the first day, indicating that all the top students are either waiting for entry into IITs or have moved to other universities in the country.

Exercise options

All candidates who attended certificate verification can exercise their options up to May 5, said Navin Mittal, Convenor of TSEAMCET-2018, in a statement here.

On the second day on Tuesday, candidates between 10,001 and 25,000 ranks have to attend verification at any of the helpline centre, while rankers between 40,001 and 80,000 seeking seats under NCC quota have to attend only at Sankethika Vidya Bhavan, Masab Tank.

Meanwhile, officials have finalised the number of seats in each stream under convenor quota and the total seats on offer are 64,566. Some of the sought-after streams include aeronautical engineering (252), computer science and engineering (17,046), electrical and electronics engineering (8,373), electronics and communication engineering (15,662), electronics and computer engineering (168), electronics and instrumentation engineering (322), information technology (3,369) and mechanical engineering (9,885).
