Trees fall on track at two places

Rail traffic in north Kerala was disrupted on Tuesday after uprooted trees fell on the track near Kollam and Parappanangadi following incessant rain.

The services of at least three important trains originating in Mangaluru was rescheduled. Train 12602 Mangaluru Central-Chennai Central Mail, scheduled to leave Mangaluru at 1.25 p.m., was rescheduled to 5 p.m. due to the late running of its pairing train, a release here said. Train 12620 Mangaluru Central-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Matsyagandha Express scheduled to leave Mangaluru at 2.35 p.m. was rescheduled to 7 p.m. and 22638 Mangaluru Central-Chennai West Coast Express, scheduled to depart from Mangaluru at 10.20 p.m., to 12 a.m. on Wednesday.

Several trains from south Kerala also reached their destinations hours late.
