Four members of a family, including two minors, were killed when a motorcycle they were travelling on collided with a truck on Adityapur-Kandra Road in Seraikela-Kharswan district, police said today.
Chotelal Tiu, a resident of Baskonagar in Gamariah police area of the district, left home with wife and twins last night after a tiff with the other family members, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Avinash Kumar said.
Around 10pm, they met with an accident on Adityapur-Kandra Road, he said.
"All four of them came under the wheels of a truck coming from the opposite direction. They were immediately taken to M G M Hospital, where the doctors declared them brought dead," the SDPO stated.
The truck driver, however, managed to flee the scene with his vehicle.
As none of the victims had any identity proof on them, the police officers had difficulties in tracing the family, the officer said, adding that a hunt was on to trace the truck driver.
