Bhopal: In AAP protests, tent house gets notice to remove sunshade

Bhopal: The AAP activists sitting on indefinite strike at Sahjani Park will have to continue their protest under the blazing sun if the tent house owner abiding with the police notice removes the sunshade from the site.

Talliya police station SHO has served notice on tenthouse owner to evacuate the site and remove his belongings or face action. The Aam Admi Party activists, sitting on indefinite strike since Saturday to press their various demands, have objected to the police move.

The SHO issued notice to the owner of Prakash Tent House to remove marquee and vacate the place. It is stated that the administration had given the permission to AAP to hold protest at the site only for two-day – May 26 and 27. Since the assigned period has ended, the site should be vacated, it said.

AAP spokesperson Gyanendra Upadhaya alleged that government is trying to suppress the democratic rights and quell the strike at any cost. Citing the Constitution, he said that every person has right to stage peaceful demonstration.  “Instead of answering our questions, the government is trying to crush the strike by hook or by crook,” said Upadhaya.

Four leaders are sitting on the strike and state coordinator Alok Agarwal health has started deteriorating, said party spokesperson, adding that no one from district administration came to check health of the protestors.
