Cape Coral police said they arrested a Sarasota man, found sleeping in his running vehicle at an intersection, for drunken driving at four times the legal limit.

A witness reported an intoxicated man, later identified as Tyler J. Montoney, 27,  sleeping behind the wheel of a running truck in the 400 block of SE 13th Court at SE 4th Street about 9 p.m. Sunday.

The witness took the keys from the car and placed them on the truck's roof, the police report indicated. Lee County EMS took Montoney to Cape Coral Hospital for observation.

The report indicates the officer found Montoney with bloodshot eyes, slurred and slow speech, slow and deliberate movement and having a strong odor of alcohol. The hospital discharged him, saying doctors had not given him any medication or narcotics.

Police administered three blood-alcohol tests. Tyler was transported to CCPD for the breath test. the results are as follows: 0.344 percent, 0.312 percent and 0.327 percent. Under Florida law, 0.08 percent is the legal limit.

Jail records list Montoney as having a Cape Coral address. He remained jailed Tuesday afternoon on a bond of $4,282. He is accused of drunken driving. He also had an outstanding warrant in Sarasota County for child support and a suspended driver's license.
