Teacher charged over allegedly pinching, scratching children
A female primary school teacher has been charged with assault, after allegedly pinching, scratching and pushing some of her young pupils.
Detectives from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to a primary school in Sydney's south-west on Monday and spoke to teaching staff and a number of children aged between eight and 10.
About 6.30pm that day, police went to a home in Yagoona and arrested a 57-year-old woman.
She was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with six counts of common assault.
Police will allege in court that over a period of time, the woman pinched, pushed and scratched some students at the primary school.
The woman was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court on June 20.
