The Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will announce the results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), or Class 12 board examinations, at 1 pm on May 30.

Students can check their results here. Students can also check their results on mahresult.nic.in after they are declared.

The HSC examinations, which began on February 21 and ended on March 20, were taken by 14,85,000 students, including 834,000 boys and 650,000 girls. As many as 17,85,000 students -- 973,000 boys and 778,000 girls -- appeared for the SSC examinations held between March 1 and March 24.

This year, the state board hired more flying squads to conduct surprise checks at the centres to curb any form of malpractice during the HSC exams.

Only 25 students were allowed in each exam hall, and the question papers were divided into sets of 25 each so that centre supervisors did not have to open the bundles before they reached the hall.

The state board also conducted a series of workshops across schools to ensure that no mobile phones are allowed inside exam centres, as most paper leaks take place over WhatsApp.

Last year, five HSC question papers — Marathi, secretarial practice, political science, physics and mathematics/statistics — were leaked through WhatsApp almost half an hour before the examinations. Two such cases were also registered in 2016.

The HSC pass percentage stood at 87.14 in 2017.
