Northern Army Commander briefs J-K Governor, CM on security situation

General Devraj Anbu, who has been appointed as the next of Staff, today called on N N Vohra and separately and briefed them about the security situation in the state.

"The had extensive discussions with Gen Anbu regarding the security situation; the losses and serious difficulties arising from the recurring violations of the ceasefire agreement from across the IB and LoC and security arrangements for the forthcoming Amarnathji Yatra," an said.

The also discussed with Gen Anbu issues relating to the ceasefire in security operations which was announced by the Centre on the eve of Ramzan and how it could form the basis of sustaining arrangements in the future, the said.

Vohra wished Lt. Gen Anbu high success in his next crucial assignment at the Headquarters.

During his meeting with the Chief Minister, the Army briefed her about the overall security scenario in the state, particularly after the announcement of Ramzan ceasefire.

The advised the Army to work in synergy with other security agencies and ensure that the relief and hope generated by the ceasefire among common masses is sustained and carried forward.

She also asked the Army to help people during the holy month in whatever means possible. Lt. Gen Anbu also briefed the about the situation along borders in the state, particularly the International Border, and measures being taken for the safety and security of people living in these areas.
