Mothkupalli hits out at Naidu

‘NTR family should take over TDP’

TDP polit bureau member Mothkupalli Narsimhulu criticised party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly “hatching conspiracies to send him out of the party”. Mr. Narsimhulu launched an attack on Mr. Naidu, claiming the latter had failed in keeping the promises he made. He paid tributes to TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao on the latter’s 95th birth anniversary here on Monday, said people from Dalit communities could enter politics because of the TDP founder, who was known for implementing spree of welfare and developmental programmes for marginalised communities.

Mr. Naidu, however, had been utilising NTR’s name for political ends and trying to tarnish the image of his family. The TDP president had “conspired to dislodge the elected government in Telangana”, but TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao sensed the trouble and pre-empted the moves, Mr. Narsimhulu said. Mr. Naidu’s attitude could be gauged from the fact that he could not decide whether AP needed a special package or special category status for four long years. He was among those who supported demonetisation and wanted ban on higher denomination currency. But Mr. Naidu was now finding fault with the Centre. The time had come for the NTR’s family to take over the reins of TDP, failing which the party would suffer immensely in the coming days, he said. The party could regain its glory if film star Junior NTR takes over, he said.
