Lakeland Community College

Lakeland Community College softball player Cameron Malkamaki earned a spot on The National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s NJCAA Division II All-East Regional team.

Joining Malkamaki, a Riverside graduate, on the team is Lakeland’s Kallista Hribar.

“It is an honor for Kallista and Cameron to be recognized by the coaches in the East Region for this award,” Lakeland coach Jeff Morganti said. “This is the first time Lakeland has had two players selected in the same season.”

Malkamaki was named to the second team as a utility player as she played at catcher and in the outfield. Malkamaki had the second-highest batting average on the team at .394 while leading the team in RBI (39) and at-bats (109).

Hribar was a first-team pick as an infielder with a batting average of .615, which was second-best in NJCAA Division II. Hribar’s batting average and 52 runs scored are school records at Lakeland.
