India & Pakistan review prevailing situation along LoC & International Border in J&K |
India and Pakistan today reviewed the prevailing situation along the LoC and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. Director Generals of Military Operations (DGsMO) of the two countries spoke to each other through Hot Line on ceasefire violations and other issues.
Indian Army DGMO agreed with the proposal to undertake sincere measures to improve existing situation to ensure peace and avoidance of hardship to the civilians along the borders.
In a statement, Indian Army said, they also agreed to fully implement the ceasefire understanding of 2003 in letter and spirit forthwith and to ensure that henceforth the ceasefire will not be violated by both sides.
It was mutually agreed that in case of any issue, restraint will be exercised and the matter will be resolved through utilization of existing mechanisms of Hot Line contacts and border flag meeting at local commanders level.
The request for the Hot Line interaction between the DGsMO of the two armies came from the Pakistani side.
