STAR WARS’ Darth Maul actor has allegedly implied that the Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off is going to become a reality.

The anthology tale for the character - played first by Alec Guiness and then by Ewan McGregor - has long been rumoured, but never officially confirmed by LucasFilm.
Now, Twitter user David Weiser has claimed to have had a conversation with Park at Comicpalooza, sharing a photograph of his signed picture as evidence.
Weiser said that in his conversation with Park, he virtually confirmed that the Kenobi movie will indeed come to fruition soon enough.
He wrote: “And the last person I met for the weekend was Ray Park. Very nice guy!

“Had a chat with him about the character of Darth Maul and various Lucasfilm endeavors.
“I’m just gonna say he strongly implied that a Kenobi movie will happen so all the reports are PROBABLY legit.”
(WARNING: Solo spoilers ahead.)
Park is, of course, back in Star Wars fans’ spotlight after appearing in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Those familiar with the spin-off animations will know that Maul survived being chopped in half by Kenobi at the end of The Phantom Menace, though Kenobi did eventually kill him off for good further down the line.
Solo has unfortunately not met expectations at the global box office, struggling to just over $100 million in its opening weekend in the US.
It was initially forecast to make a challenge for the $139 million record for highest ever Memorial Day Weekend opening, but that did not happen.

Whether or not that performance will affect future spin-off plans remains to be seen, though Disney implied in a statement that releasing so soon after Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2 may have been the error.
A Boba Fett movie is also thought to be in the pipeline; as reported last week.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is out now.
