KATHMANDU: Relatives of a patient, who passed away during the course of treatment at a Bhaktapur-based hospital, are putting up a protest outside hospital premises, citing negligence on the part of doctor.
The deceased has been identified as Junu Devi Shrestha (48) of Sarlahi district, currently residing in Thimi of Bhaktapur.
Junu Devi, who was suffering fromĀ Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), had been admitted to Nagarik Community Teaching Hospital four days ago.
According to Krishna Shrestha, son of the deceased, the doctor under whose charge his mother was admitted had not looked after the patient properly and cited negligence on his part. He also shared that the doctor had misbehaved with the patient and her kin.
However, the hospital management has downplayed the allegation and said, the patient passed away owing to deteriorating heart condition.
The patient’s relatives are currently waiting outside the hospital premises holding talks with management, demanding legal action against the doctor, who has reportedly fled the scene.
