MS Dhoni Celebrates IPL Title With Family, Thanks Mumbai for Support

The Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni led his side to a fairytale IPL title in their comeback season when they beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the final of 2018 season at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday evening. With this title, CSK have joined the Mumbai Indians as the only two teams to have won the IPL thrice in the history of the competition, with the men in yellow having made two less appearances than Mumbai.

After the final and the initial celebrations with the squad, MS Dhoni took time out to celebrate this special win with his wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva. In his post on Instagram, Dhoni can be seen posing with the IPL trophy with his wife and daughter at the Wankhede Stadium. Captain cool, also adds via the post that even though everyone is very happy about the CSK triumph, his daughter Ziva is more interested in getting a chance run around in the 'lawn'. Dhoni also made it a point to thank the Mumbai crowd for their support, as well as making a mention of team-mate Shane Watson's 'shocking' innings in the final.



Dhoni who is known for his muted reactions to most things, also did not celebrate with his team after the game for as he chose to enjoy the initial winning moments with his daughter Ziva. Once the trophy was given to CSK, and the team players were busy celebrating on the podium, Dhoni was caught on camera playing with his daughter Ziva behind the euphoria of his team-mates. The CSK captain was seen enjoying a moment with Ziva and of course, social media was absolutely loved the moment.







Earlier in the evening on Sunday, the Chennai Super Kings completed their fairytale comeback to the Indian Premier League and clinched their third title after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in a final that belonged to the Australian all-rounder Shane Watson. Watson rolled back the years as he launched a vicious attack on the well-oiled Sunrisers bowling machinery to take the Yellow brigade home with 9 balls to spare.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad rode useful knocks from captain Kane Williamson and Yusuf Pathan to set the Chennai Super Kings a target of 179. The men in yellow have been in some fantastic form while chasing down totals this season, and did not look phased in their attempts at any point in time. CSK lost the South African Faf du Plessis and Suresh Raina rather early in their innings but, Shane Watson had found his comfort zone from the go and was in the mood to ensure his team would win without any difficulty. Watson hammered an unbeaten 117 with eight sixes and 11 boundaries while Ambati Rayudu, the highest scoring batsman for the CSK stayed unbeaten on 16.
